We start our Tour from Potsdamer Platz, the main place of superlatives in the middle of Berlin on the former border strip. The largest rock concert in Germany to date (The Wall), the "largest construction site in Europe" and the largest public film festival in the world (the Berlinale) - Potsdamer Platz stands for all these superlatives!

Brandenburg Gate
.After Potsdamer Platz, we walk to visit Brandenburg Gate which is built between 1788 and 1791 according to plans by Carl Gotthard Langhans at the request of the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm II and is modeled on the gate structures (Propyläen) of the Athenian Acropolis. Six Doric columns on each side are presented to the eleven meter deep transom.

Memorial of the Berlin Wall
Then we continue to Berlin Wall which is built by the German Democratic Republic during the Cold War to prevent its population from escaping Soviet-controlled East Berlin to West Berlin, which was controlled by the major Western Allies. It divided the city of Berlin into two physically and ideologically contrasting zones.
