Brandenburg Gate

And yet today it shines almost in old splendor again - even if, as already mentioned, it is actually not that old

Museum Island

The Museum Island is actually just a peninsula of the multiple-named island in the Spree River, on this northern part there are five world-famous museums protected by UNESCO. Potsdamer Platz

It was once the busiest square in Europe, if not the world. In the 1920s, 100,000 cars, carriages, etc. ran here every day, plus many trams and people. Up to 80 percent were destroyed in the war, the rest was removed in the east and west, and here a huge wasteland shaped the picture where life once pulsed. The death strip between the western wall and the interior wall was up to 80m wide. There was no passage. That changed only after the fall of the Wall and Europe's largest construction site came into being in the 1990s.
